Hypocrisy of the Western world facebook included

Enough is enough and its been a very long time since Muslims have been put to the sword time and again. Still recovering from the previous wounds, yet another one deepens it. All over the world in places like Palestine, Iraq, and Afghanistan Muslims are living in a very tormented state. Well firstly they are pretty much responsible for their state right now, but they are fighting for survival, against a war that imposed upon them. Like here in Pakistan we are fighting a war that was not even ours, Pakistan is the worst affected country from terrorism and its just ironic how easily rest of the world claims that Pakistan is a terrorist state. Look at the numbers, they say it all!

Annual Fatalities in Terrorist Violence in Pakistan, 2003- 2009

If they mean the conutry under attack are a ‘terrorist state’ – then it’s another story.

Let me give you some facts since most of us only get to see what the media wants us. According to FBI reports, the terrorists activities in the past 2 decades are majorly carried out by Latino organizations and some parts of it by Jewish groups. Latino organizations are demonized, American people know that Latino groups have been responsible for terrorism. American conservatives know this very well, but all the media attention has been sapped from Latino crime organizations and Radical leftist organizations such as Antifa, ALF, Weather Underground, etc to focus on groups like Al Qaeda (which most of it’s higher ups and Osama Bin Laden in particular actually at one point received funding from the CIA); Hizbollah, even though Hizbollah has NEVER attacked or even did as little to step foot on European and American soil and other radical Islamic groups so western peoeple will get the notion that Islam and Muslim states are somehow more dangerous than their own domestic terrorists and need to be fought and their countries occupied to prevent a “terrorist attack”.

Speaking of domestic terrorists; don’t you find it funny (albeit obvious) that there was more media attention focused on the Branch Davidians in Waco (even though they did not harm anybody outside their organization), Timothy McVeigh and his Oklahoma City attack, “Unabomber” Ted Kaczynski when he was arrested, or that guy that tried to crash his plane into the IRS building recently? But you never hear of Antifascists throwing stones into store fronts or completely holding up traffic (thus ruining the economy of major cities, which can affect the economy of the world), you never hear about crimes committed by the Black Panthers or the Nation of (fake) Islam or the Jewish Defense League and you didn’t see much media attention directed towards the Buddhist Aum Shinrikyo cult when they set off nerve gas in the Tokyo subways. Pretty ironic isn’t it?

Anyways I’ll take you back to ill-treatment of Muslims all over the world. The world didn’t have enough fun by capturing Muslim states and destroying them economically & politically, now they have found another touch point to devastate Muslims emotionally by disrespecting the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Even someone like me who is not an extremely devoted muslim cannot stand something like that. There is not doubt to the fact that a Muslim can even take abuse (in the most extreme case) for their family and friends but anything that is disrespectful to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is absolutely intolerable. No matter how unpractical a Muslim can get, but they wont ever let go of the last strand and even after that Muslims all over the world are being psychologically tortured with this.

Earlier it used to be either a single cartoonist who used to commit blasphemy, but now thanks to the global village, groups of artists are harmonized to indulge into a greater scale of blasphemy, isn’t this rubbing salt into wounds even more? It’s a pity that ‘Freedom of Speech’ is the righteous self defence for these low life retards with no values. The great hypocrisy of the western world – One can take their neighbors to courts for littering the porch & being disrespectful but disrespecting millions of people all over the world doesn’t deserve any hearing.

I am not a fan of the policies of our state, but here I want to commend the authorities and courts for taking a stand against this sacrilege and made facebook remove the blasphemous page eventually. I feel proud as part of the nation that was first to react over this issue and caused airwaves across media all world over. But hear me out for defending the govt’s stance, if every other site keeps on getting banned then we will end up isolated from rest of the world thus, stay behind instead of going ahead. Our protest has been recorded and we have been successful in denting facebook for not straitening its policies & its hypocrite behavior. After the popularity of EDMD, 20th of May, a group was started May 20 – Everybody draw & ridicule holocaust day

20th May - Everybody draw & ridicule holocaust day

This page was taken off by facebook after just 20 minutes of reporting, but the EDMD page was not taken down untill yesterday.

Its about time the peace loving Western society put their heads together and think of a way to control their so called one-side ‘FREEDOM OF SPEECH’ and take a stand against radical extremists within themselves. It is very easy for them to judge any Muslim and call them terrorist without even considering the fact that its their own behaviour that provokes Muslim to take such drastic measures. Islam is a religion of peace and the Prophet also propagated the same message, those extremists paint a wrong picture of a very beautiful religion.

“Survival realities and a King’s Tale of Revolution”

So what is the real secret behind the survival of every single Pakistani living here? Hopefully most of you have the answers to it otherwise you wouldn’t have survived to read this anyway. Inspite of the fact that you’re alive, probably you don’t realize since all of you are caught up in your lives so much to even realize the basic survival mechanism here.Let me tell you a few secrets to survive.

In order to be oblivious of all the happenings around you, there are 2 very important things to note. Firstly get your skin as hardened as a crocodile or a rhino, 2ndly always wear green/blue shades or use lens that will enable you to see everything colorful and nice. A part from these 2 important things, stop watching / reading current affairs and news programs, and if its an urgency to watch em then please do so with the intention that these news are of some other planet, which we have got nothing to do with. The only things we should be concerned of is to indulge ourselves in the highest level of corruption and hypocrisy so that we are able to live a luxurious life just like our brothers and sisters. Trust me that’s the only way to survive here because people are not held accountable for these acts.

On the surface there are lot of pep talks but when someone or you become a part of this “GOLDEN CIRCLE”, take my word – to save a single stamp or LINK – the whole circle will get in action because collective interests and joint progress are the basics of this system. At this level, the government and opposition are both on the same page.

Oh forget it! so i was telling you how to survive a place like this, the key or main ingredient is to stop thinking! Your main aim should be only to make sufficient amount of money to buy everything in the world, literally everything.. which includes justice even!! Money is the key to every lock, nobody will dare talk about you or rather who will bother? Continue reading

I want to Believe.. Don’t you?

A masterpiece by the great Urdu poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz caught my attention today. He is regarded as THE GREATEST poet Pakistan ever produced.  His poetry was considered as a ray of hope for the nation in the dark days of Martial law, one of the worst times in Paksitan’s 60 year old history. Well I wasn’t present there in those days but what I have gathered from the opinions of the ones present in those times, is that things are not quite different even today.

These verses by Faiz sahab have a very intricate meaning to them and the real essence of these verses can be felt very deep inside. I believe the real need for us is to have that belief – Belief within ourselves – Belief in the promised day and Belief in Almighty.  Everyone should read these verses and experience that feeling. Its called “Hum Dekhain Gay”

Hum Dekhain Gay
We shall see
Lazim Hai ke hum Bhi Dekhain Gay
It is necessary that we shall also see
Woh Din ke Jis ka Wadah Hai
That day which has been promised
Jo Loh-e-Azl pe Likha hai
Which is written with God’s ink
Hum Dekhain Gay
We shall see

Jab Zulm-o-Sitam ke Koh-e-garaan
When the mountains of cruelty and torture
Ruii ki Tarah Urd Jain Gay
Will fly like pieces of cotton
Hum Mehkumoon ke Paun Talay
Under the feet of the governed
Yeh Dharti Dhard Dhard Dhardkay gi
This earth will quake
Aur Ehl-e-Hukum ke Sar Uper
And over the head of the ruler
Jab Bijli kard Kard Kardke gi
When lightening will thunder
Hum Dekhain Gay
We shall see

Jab Arz-e-Khuda ke kabay se
When from God’s Mecca
Sab but Uthwaaiy Jain gay
All the idols will be shattered
Hum Ehl-e-Safa Mardood-e-Haram
Us people standing in the mosque
Masnad pe Bithaaiy jain gay
Will be elevated to a higher platform
Sab Taaj Uchalay jain gay
All the crowns will be tossed
Sab Takht Giraaiy Jain gay
All the thrones will be toppled

Bas Naam rahay Ga Allah ka
Then only God’s name will remain
Jo Ghayab Bhi hai Hazir Bhi
Who is both absent and present
Jo nazir bhi hai manzar bhi
Who is both the observer and the view itself
Uthay ga Analhaq ka Naara
When the anthem of truth will be raised
Jo Main bhi Hun aur Tumbhi ho
Who I am and you are as well
Aur Raaj karay gi khalq-e-Khuda
And the people of God will reign
Jo main bhi hun aur tum bhi ho
Who I am and you are as well

Hum Dekhain Gay
We shall see
Lazim Hai ke hum Bhi Dekhain Gay
It is necessary that we shall also see
Hum Dekhain Gay
We shall see

The Day I almost Died!

The dawn of 28 February 2010 turned out to be quite nice and it started quite well. But little I knew this day will have lots of surprises and events instored for me.

Well just in case i want to let everyone know I have a seven day week 🙂 No late sleepover or anything, have to be at work and college at 9 in the morning 7 days a week!

So anyway, the day started easy and went pretty smoothly till noon but then things got outta control and bad messy really fast. Got in a little tangle with a friend and that was pretty bad, no wait.. actually its exactly what you call a screw up. Then didn’t feel like attending the next session so just slept through it and finally slipped out when I got the chance to flee the scene.

Later I found a friend who was willing to accompany me for shopping 🙂 so volah! On a scortching hot sunday afternoon we both went for some casual shopping, and that turned out pretty cool as well. Thank God the streets were deserted and with almost no traffic, which allowed us to roam free 😀 Got done with the shopping in an couple of hours got ourselves some nice refreshements to beat the heat and off we went home.

But as soon as I got back home a weird depressing feeling took over. May be it was beacuse of the recent mishaps, that i was feeling so screwed up. So after wasting a few more hours i dozed off, but that didn’t last more than an hour or so. Giving up i headed out to get some fresh air and got a lot of smoke in turn.

Then as i came back and wanted to have dinner, i felt sick. Quite sick that i just felt like puking and head was spinning like a wirlpool. I then started cursing myself for smoking at the worst time ever. That feeling kept eating me for a while again and i wanted to kill myself, the headache kept on growing and growing.

Later on for some reason i had to get out of home and I realised i was short on cash, so i went to a nearby ATM. I as usual didn’t lock the door behind me because my car was just next to the door so there was no point since it hardly took me a minute or two to take out the cash.  So as soon as i put the card inside, a huge 6 and a half ft man with a gun came storming in, and i was like WTF! this is what remains of this day for me?? so i being already dizzy just got more shocked and almost passed out when i felt the pistol around my waist. The huge black guy was screaming at me to take out the cash, he took my cell phone and was yelling at me to hurry up. I told him the cash is coming out, and as soon as it did he grabbed it but upon realizing it was just mere Rs.500 :S He gave me an angry look and left everything, he said to me not to tell anyone about this. I was shocked that why didnt he take the money or either of my possessions, but he just told me to stay quite and simply left.

I stared at him in awe and confusion as I say the door closing behind me. I could still feel the force of pistol around my waist, i stayed with in the atm for 2 mins or so and tried to regain my composure and realized i could have got killed today.

The recollections of the day suggest that it was quite a screwed up day, probably one of the worst day in recent times.

Here is the lucky transaction that I made: I am sure on the most lucky transactions of my life, may be it saved my life.

Facebook is web’s ultimate TimeDrain – Thanks Zuckerberg!

The Facebook Globe

The average U.S. Internet user spends more time on Facebook than on Google, Yahoo, YouTube, Microsoft, Wikipedia, and Amazon combined. Think about that for a moment.

New numbers released by Nielsen today confirm what we’ve known for a while: Facebook (Facebook) is the web’s #1 time sink. What’s more interesting though is just how much more time we spend on the world’s largest social network today than we did 6 months ago.

Back in June 2009, Nielsen estimated that the average U.S. user spent 4 hours and 39 minutes on Facebook per month. That’s about 9.3 minutes per day in a 30 day month. In August, that number rose to 5 hours and 46 minutes, or 11.5 minutes per day.

In January 2010 though, the amount of time the average person spent on Facebook jumped to over 7 hours. Each American Facebook user spent an average of 421 minutes on Facebook per month, which amounts to over 14 minutes per day. Even if you lump together the time spent on Google (Google) (1:23), Yahoo (2:09), YouTube (YouTube) (1:02), Microsoft/Bing (Bing) (1:35) Wikipedia (Wikipedia) (0:15), and Amazon (0:22), it still doesn’t beat Facebook. Ethics in Journalism.. Some common practices every journalist should follow

Society of Professional Journalists

Seek Truth and Report It
Journalists should be honest, fair and courageous in gathering, reporting and interpreting information.

Journalists should:

— Test the accuracy of information from all sources and exercise care to avoid inadvertent error. Deliberate distortion is never permissible.
— Diligently seek out subjects of news stories to give them the opportunity to respond to allegations of wrongdoing.
— Identify sources whenever feasible. The public is entitled to as much information as possible on sources’ reliability.
— Always question sources’ motives before promising anonymity. Clarify conditions attached to any promise made in exchange for information. Keep promises.
— Make certain that headlines, news teases and promotional material, photos, video, audio, graphics, sound bites and quotations do not misrepresent. They should not oversimplify or highlight incidents out of context.
— Never distort the content of news photos or video. Image enhancement for technical clarity is always permissible. Label montages and photo illustrations.
— Avoid misleading re-enactments or staged news events. If re-enactment is necessary to tell a story, label it.
— Avoid undercover or other surreptitious methods of gathering information except when traditional open methods will not yield information vital to the public. Continue reading

The Agents of Change

The media is no doubt a potent tool with the power to change perception and public opinion, whether it with regard to environmental, political or religious issues. On the first day of 2010, The Times of India featured a print campaign with the caption “Love Pakistan”. To quote some parts of it;
“Terror, hatred and fanaticism somehow sit more comfortably in our minds when we think of the other side of the border. Is there any chance at all that we could still raise a hand, not in anger but in greeting? So on the first day of this new year, we’re going to make a start. Again.”

Front page of The Times of India (Jan-01-2010)

Aman Ki Asha is a campaign that hopes to strengthen ties between India and Pakistan on a people-to-people basis .The objective behind this campaign according to Rahul Kansal, the CMO of The Times of India, the largest media group of India was to take on a leadership position in campaigns that highlight issues as opposed to being passive reporters. On the Pakistani front, the Jang group has entered into an agreement with them to campaign for peace between the two countries which will also cover issues such as the Kashmir dispute, the water dispute and problems associated with terrorism. In addition the campaign will also promote economic, cultural and educational benefits. In February a trade meet has been set up in Karachi which will bring together businessmen and industrialists from both the countries.

At present a TVC featuring Amitabh Bachchan is also playing on local TV channels. In addition, independent research agencies will carry out cross –country surveys in both countries in order to determine people’s opinions on issues that matter.

OMG OMG OMG its Twilight!!

How Twilight Works!!

A few weeks ago I had the miserable experience of reading Twilight. A friend bought it for me and I took it with me to read on a long flight from Seattle to Houston. I knew it was going to be crappy, but I thought it would be a guilty pleasure kind of crappy – where you know it’s bad but you still get enjoyment out of it. I actually managed to power through around 400 pages until I gave up and started reading Sky Mall. I’ve been seeing Twilight everywhere lately, especially with Vampire Teens II New Moon’s release, so I thought I’d break down why chicks go apeshit for it.

First off, the author creates a main character which is an empty shell. Her appearance isn’t described in detail; that way, any female can slip into it and easily fantasize about being this person. I read 400 pages of that book and barely had any idea of what the main character looked like; as far as I was concerned she was a giant Lego brick. Appearance aside, her personality is portrayed as insecure, fumbling, and awkward – a combination anyone who ever went through puberty can relate to. By creating this “empty shell,” the character becomes less of a person and more of something a female reader can put on and wear. Because I forgot her name (I think it was Barbara or Brando or something like that), I’m going to refer to her as “Pants” from here on out.

So after a few chapters of listening to Pants whine about high school, sucking at volleyball, and being the center of attention, the second major character is introduced. Imagine everything women want in a man, then exaggerate it by ten thousand – and you’ve got Edward Cullen. The level of detail that the author goes into while describing Edward’s appearance is remarkable. At one point while reading I started counting the number of times the author used the expression “Edward’s perfect face,” and it was far into the double digits. The author excruciatingly details his muscular pecs, clothing, hair, eye color – even his goddamn breath (I’m not joking).

Edward intensely listens to everything Pants has to say, even if she’s bitching about she had diarrhea on Christmas or her preferred method for cutting a sandwich in half. As far as the reader is concerned, Edward cares about nothing in the world more than Pants. What the author has done is created a perfect male figure – a pale Greek statue which the reader can worship and in turn be worshiped by.

So what about men that like Twilight?
If you’re male and you like Twilight, you’re gay. I don’t mean that in the derogatory sense, I mean it in the “you want to put your testicles against another man’s testicles while gripping handfuls of chesthair” kind of way.

And the movie?
The movie is just the same uninspired crap shat out onto a film reel. If you like the taste of horse manure on your bologna sandwiches, you’re probably gonna like it on your birthday cake as well. The same principle applies with Twilight.

Beyond that, it’s just a romance novel with the occasional vampire teen drama bullshit peppered here and there. It doesn’t really break any new ground in the realm of vampire fiction, other than portraying vampires as a family of uncomfortable retards who prance around the woods eating deer and bunny rabbits. There’s lots of nervous lip-biting, tender kisses between Pants and Edward, and lengthy descriptions of every feature of Edward’s body. Pants is a static character who never really progresses beyond being an insecure vampire fangirl who obsesses over Edward. Whether her character grows beyond that is unknown to me, I’d stopped reading by then and shifted my attention to an electric butt-massaging chair in Sky Mall.

I am a good boy mom…

Just a little piece I read somewhere, written pretty amaturely but still says a lot..

I went to a party Mom,
I remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink, Mom,
So I drank soda instead.

I really felt proud inside, Mom,
The way you said I would.
I didn’t drink and drive, Mom,
Even though the others said I should.

I know I did the right thing, Mom,
I know you are always right.
Now the party is finally ending, Mom,
As everyone is driving out of sight.

As I got into my car, Mom,
I knew I’d get home in one piece.
Because of the way you raised me,
So responsible and sweet.

I started to drive away, Mom,
But as I pulled out into the road,
The other car didn’t see me, Mom,
And hit me like a load.

As I lay there on the pavement, Mom,
I hear the policeman say,
“The other guy is drunk,” Mom,
And now I’m the one who will pay.

I’m lying here dying, Mom….
I wish you’d get here soon.
How could this happen to me, Mom?
My life just burst like a balloon.

There is blood all around me, Mom,
And most of it is mine.
I hear the medic say, Mom,
I’ll die in a short time.

I just wanted to tell you, Mom,
I swear I didn’t drink.
It was the others, Mom.
The others didn’t think..

He was probably at the same party as I.
The only difference is, he drank
And I will die.

Why do people drink, Mom?
It can ruin your whole life.
I’m feeling sharp pains now.
Pains just like a knife.

The guy who hit me is walking, Mom,
And I don’t think it’s fair.
I’m lying here dying
And all he can do is stare.

Tell my brother not to cry, Mom.
Tell Daddy to be brave.
And when I go to heaven, Mom,
Put “GOOD BOY ” on my grave.

Someone should have told him, Mom,
Not to drink and drive.
If only they had told him, Mom,
I would still be alive.

My breath is getting shorter, Mom.
I’m becoming very scared.
Please don’t cry for me, Mom.
When I needed you, you were always there.

I have one last question, Mom.
Before I say good bye.
I didn’t drink and drive,
So why am I the one to die?
